The IOR5E is an Input-Output-Relay board with an enclosure and battery backed RTC. It has space for a Modtronix compact SBC board to be mounted as a daughter board. To control the outputs and relays, and read inputs, is has to be used together with a Modtronix compact SBC board. No SBC board is included with the IOR5E! Matching enclosure rear panels are available for the supported SBC board. The SBC board used depends on the type of PIC CPU and interface required. Currently the following Modtronix compact SBC boards can be used together with the IOR5E board and enclosure:
The shipped product is basically as shown in the picture below, without the RTC and battery assembled. The enclosure top is not shown, but is of course also included and screwed on.
Typical additional components purchased with this product will be a compact SBC board (SBC65EC or SBC28PC for example) and a matching enclosure rear panel. For example, to build an internet accessible Relay-Input-Output module you can combine the IOR5E with a SBC65EC single board computer and an for the SBC65EC (add as option below). The SBC65EC board will plug into the IOR5E board (used as a daughter board), and the enclosure rear panel fits into the enclosure and has cutouts for the SBC65EC's connectors to fit through. With these 3 components (IOR5E, SBC65EC and enclosure rear panel for SBC65EC) you will then have a professional Relay-Input-Output module in an enclosure.
You will have to write your own software for driving the outputs and reading the inputs on the IOR5E and program this new code onto the selected SBC board. Sample code is provide on our forum. Details of programming Modtronix PIC based SBC boards is here.
